Stuart R. Crichton received his undergraduate degree from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois with a major in Economics in 1998. Mr. Crichton received his law degree from Vermont Law School in 2001. He is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Mr. Crichton is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and has completed the requirements of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to represent persons accused of a capital offense.
From 2001 until 2003, Mr. Crichton was engaged in the private practice of law representing clients in a wide scope of civil matters. In 2003, Mr. Crichton joined the Office of the Public Defender of Chester County as an Assistant Public Defender. In that capacity, Mr. Crichton provided representation to persons accused of a wide variety of crimes including Homicide, Economic Crime, Drugs, Sex Offenses, Assault and other types of alleged misconduct. He has tried dozens of jury trials and also has tried many non-jury trials. He has argued before the appellate courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Since leaving the Chester County Public Defender’s Office, the primary emphasis of Mr. Crichton’s practice is representing individuals and entities investigated and accused of crimes in the state and federal courts. Additionally, Mr. Crichton will continue representing individuals and entities in civil and regulatory matters.
Mr. Crichton is a lifelong member of the Chester County community. He attended and graduated from Westtown School in 1994.
